» How We Minister
Just as God chose and formed the people of Israel to reveal and carry out the Divine plan, the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary are commissioned to be bearers of the Good News, to be a light to the nations that God’s salvation may reach the ends of the earth (Is 49:6). The charism of the Congregation draws its members to follow the inspiration of Jesus’ total self-giving by responding generously and courageously to the challenges presented by our Mission. This charism, a gift of the Holy Spirit, is lived in union with Mary, the pre-eminent disciple of Jesus and model of the Church. As Sisters of the Little Company of Mary we are called to share in Mary’s maternal and evangelizing role in the Church. Our Mission finds its expression through the original, common and constant ministries of prayer and care of those who are sick and dying. It is expressed in the ministries of the individual Sisters and through the apostolic works of the Congregation. It is the call that motivates all service within the local churches and cultures in which the Little Company of Mary is present. By the power of the Holy Spirit, each Sister contributes to the vitality of the corporate mission of the Congregation by her life of prayer and her commitment to the ministry to which she is commissioned.
