Convocation Of The Seventeenth Congregational Chapter
The Seventeenth (17) Congregational Chapter in accordance with Constitution & Directives 38 will be held from 5th – 28th March 2011 at Hinsley Hall, Diocese of Leeds Pastoral Centre, Leeds LS6 2BX, England.
Theme for the Chapter:
Women of the Gospel
Followers of Mary Potter
We journey onward with faith, hope, love and compassion
Prayer
Gracious God, as we journey
in Mary Potter’s footsteps,
remind us that discipleship is a way of life.
Through your spirit help us to meet
the challenges of today,
to discover how God
is calling us to LCM mission
in the context of today’s world.
Set our hearts on fire so that we can stand
with Mary on Calvary
in love and compassion.
Lord, show us the way to you.

Our wholehearted preparation will make sure that the 17th Congregational Chapter is a life giving event that will call us to conversion and renewal for the Little Company of Mary and our mission in the Church. As we continue the journey begun by Venerable Mary Potter in 1877, may her spirit inspire us as we journey onward in faith, hope, love and compassion.
Blessing And Opening Of Heritage Centre Nottingham
The occasion on Wednesday 10 February 2010 was marked with a liturgy of blessing and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque by Rt Rev Malcolm MacMahon OP, Bishop of Nottingham. The Bishop reminded us that the Heritage Centre was not just to recall the past but is to be a living expression of our LCM Charism and Spirituality for today.
The deputy Lord Mayor of Nottingham was in attendance as well as representatives of the professional groups responsible for the design and the audio visual components. Despite the restrictions of space 70 guests were able to be present. Many of the Sisters gathered for this special day along with Associates and Affiliates.
The Builder, the Architect and Project Manager were present. They provided tremendous expertise throughout the whole process and in addition to their professional skill were so interested and expressed how privileged they felt to be engaged in our project and to have had the opportunity to get to know Mary Potter.
We acknowledge our gratitude to Sr Mark Cornelius and the previous Congregational Leadership Team for their vision and courage in starting us out on the journey of establishing the Heritage Centre.
Last but not least, a bronze statue of Mary Potter has a prominent place in the entrance hall. She looks splendid and she is there to greet all who will visit the Centre. The statue was commissioned in California and gifted to the Heritage Centre by the Providence Little Company of Mary Hospitals in Torrance.
May the Spirit of Mary Potter continue to inspire us on our journey into our evolving future and we pray that the Heritage Centre will bring blessings on our Congregation.
